ABSTRACT
Glaucoma is the first cause of blindness in Europe and over the world. The purposes of its treatment are lowering intraocular pressure. For patients who have visual potential, conventional glaucoma surgery such as trabeculectomy is frequently performed. The most common failures of it are associated with functioning of the filtering bleb, which causes inappropriate filtration and ultimately hypotony or increased intraocular pressure. Prevention or good treatment of complications after trabeculectomy is necessary to achieve long-term success of anti-glaucoma surgery.
